LIFT Coal Town and Railroad Museum

In 2014 the museum will celebrate the very first immigrants to our country. Our center booth display will provide the most recent information from top archaeologists about who were the first to set foot on the North American continent.

Drawing from extensive information gathered firsthand from the Paleo American Odyssey conference in Santa Fe, New Mexico, last fall and from a spring visit with     Dr. Dennis Stanford, director/curator of the Paleo Indian program at the Smithsonian Institution’s Museum of National History, we explore events 20,000-plus years before present.

Visitors can also see information about the prehistoric people who first came to our local area and view locally-found artifacts.

A story in the 2014 Il Bollettino will complement this display.  Copies will be available at no cost at the museum and other festival locations.
